The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 includes several provisions to lower prescription drug costs for Medicare recipients and reduce drug spending by the federal government. Congressman Zach Nunn opposed the Inflation Reduction Act, which helps millions of Americans save on costly life-saving medications amidst rising health care costs.

Matt Sinovic, Executive Director of Progress Iowa, a member of the Fairness for Iowa Coalition stated the following:

“Residents of the 3rd Congressional District, like all Iowans and the rest of the country, wish to see policies supporting everyday people be protected. For too long, pharmaceutical companies have made billions upon billions in profits by setting steep prices for necessary medications. Now that tides are turning for hard working Iowans in the 3rd Congressional District, Congressman Zach Nunn has a duty to his constituents to oppose repealing the Inflation Reduction Act and protect lower prescription drug costs.”

Full Transcript "Susie":

Prescription drugs are shockingly expensive.

So I take all these, and, gosh, it’s a huge expense every month.

Zach Nunn would make it worse.

He opposed giving Medicare the power to negotiate lower prescription drug prices.

He opposed capping the cost of insulin.

And he’s pushing to give big drug companies more tax breaks.

Zach Nunn would make us pay more for these prescriptions while drug companies make record profits.

It just doesn’t seem fair to me.

Fairness for Iowa encourages Congressman Nunn’s constituents to call his office at (515) 400-8180 to demand that he oppose repealing the Inflation Reduction Act and protect lower prescription costs for Iowans.
