STATEMENT: Rep. Nunn Votes for Extremist Jim Jordan to be the Next Speaker of the House

Des Moines, IA — Today Representative Zach Nunn voted for Jim Jordan to be the new House Speaker. Rep. Jordan is a notorious Republican extremist who continuously puts wealthy corporations over hardworking Iowans. 

Rep. Jordan has voted time and time again to cut taxes for large corporations, while raising the prices of everyday goods and services like housing, medication, and food – just to name a few. Rep. Jordan has also made it loud and clear his plans to cut Social Security and Medicare benefits, on which hundreds of thousands of Iowans rely. Rep. Jordan continues to prioritize cutting taxes for his billionaire buddies – instead of working to lower the cost of living.
